We are a church family that celebrates God's love together, and shares it with others. His love is visible in our lives, our relationships, and our community.

Fresh Start began its first Sunday service on Palm Sunday 1996,but really the vision of Fresh Start began much earlier than that. As associate pastor of Freeman Avenue Church of God, Reverand James Davis Sr., and his late wife Sarah, along with four other couples joined him and his vision of building a new church. Fresh Start Church was created out of a call to touch the lives of the lost and bring them closer to Jesus Christ. To be a church family where new beginnings, new relationships and new love in nourished and visible. To unite people from all walks of life, because God's love has broken racial, economic and gender barriers.

Beginning in a fellow member's basement with just ten core members, in five years, Fresh Start has grown to over two hundred members. Since our very first service, we have met in the Christa McAuliffe Elementary School in Lenexa, Kansas. We use (rent) several rooms including the cafeteria, where service is held, and the gymnasium, where most of our youth activities take place. Although the facility can accommodate us right now, we are quickly "outgrowing" it.

Fresh Start Church was created to bring the lost to Jesus Christ. We are a church family where new beginnings, new relationships and new love is visible. We have people from all walks of life, because God's love has broken racial, economic and gender barriers. We exist to share God's love in a relevant and life changing way by Celebrating God together and sharing Him with Others. We are strengthening families, helping others discover their gifts, and using them for the glory of God. We are an active force in our community, through the Power of the Holy Spirit, touching lives of the lost and making it a wonderful and safe place to live. We are God's people, caring for people.
